정보를 주고 받고, 자신을 알리는 방법이 어려웠던? 예전과 반면 오늘날엔 너무나 쉽게 자신을 알리고, 정보의 교환한다. 이와 더불어 커뮤니티 또한 많은 변화가 일어났는데, 위의 경우와 같이 네티즌들 끼리 우정을 쌓거나 지인이 되는 경우가 나의 경우에도 심심치 않게 일어난다. 이러한 것에 관련된 학문도 있는데, 그것을 social network 라 한다.
예전에 캐빈베이컨이라는 게임이 있었다. six degrees of kevin bacon 모든 영화배우들은 케빈베이컨의 6다리이내로 연결된다는 것이다. 생각보다 사람들은 서로 쉽게 연결된다.

social networks는 인간관계의 이상이다. 간학제 학제간-> 어떤분야에서 다른분야를 공부하면 뭐라고 했었는데 지금의 social netvorks는 interdisciplinaty하다. 사회학자,-> 통계학자, 수학학자, -> 컴퓨터테스킹-> ..... 하다보니 모든학자들은 사회 네트워크에 관계가 있다. 이것도 아마도 6다리 안으로 연결되는 모양을 띄게 되는 것 같다.

digital media는 무엇인가? 단순히 해석하자면, 이진법으로 표현되는 미디어이다. 하지만 나는 이
것을 단순히 컴퓨터가 이해할수 있는 언어로 바꾸는 것으로 생각하기보다는 많은 사람들이 서로 의사소통을 원활히 하기 위한 수단의 종류이며, 예술의 한 분류라고 생각한다.
미디어는 항상 컴퓨터의 발전과 함께 했다. 멀지 않은 과거인 내가 중학교까지만 했어도 이동저장매체로 플로피 디스켓을 사용했었다. 하지만 지금은 더욱 작은 것으로 대체가 되었다. 컴퓨터의 역사는 이런 식이다. engelbart는 1968에 윈도우의 시초인 nls demo를 만들었다. 이것은 지금의 모습과 흡사한 마우스와 키보드를 가지고 있다(물론 투박하고 크기가 크다). 이것은 인간의 사유하는 방식 글쓰는 방식 등을 모방한 것이라 이전의 dos 보다 인터페이스가 편리하다.

Today topic is the Vannevar Bush's "as we may think", memex, and microfilm selector .
This is vannevar Buch's thing of the future. He's imagination at 1945 is real now.
memex was based on Bush's work during 1938-1940 developing an improved photoelectric microfilm selector.
The lower part is point of "as we may think".Much needs to occur, however, between the collection of data and observations, the extraction of parallel material from the existing record, and the final insertion of new material into the general body of the common record. For mature thought there is no mechanical substitute. But creative thought and essentially repetitive thought are very different things. For the latter there are, and may be, powerful mechanical aids.
